Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use this website. Here's what we've done, what we know still needs work, and how to tell us about a problem.

Our target

This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we've done

  • Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
  • Text and controls meet AA contrast in both the light and dark themes. The site follows your device setting until you choose one.
  • Pages work at 200% zoom and on screens from 320 pixels wide.
  • Forms have labels, grouped questions and specific error messages.
  • The home page hen's hop is switched off when your device asks for reduced motion. Her speech bubble still changes.
  • Pages work without JavaScript, apart from the theme switch and the cookie banner.

Known limitations

  • Product illustrations are drawn in code and described in text. Photos, when added, will each have a text description.
  • The site has been checked with automated tools and by keyboard. Testing with screen readers such as VoiceOver and NVDA is planned before launch.
